FAQs

What do I need to make the perfect Margarita?

Great question! We’ve tried to make it as easy as possible (head to our ‘How to SIPP’ page for our basic recipe) but there are still a few key elements that you’ll need. These are; a cocktail shaker, a measure (or jig), ice and tequila. You can get fancy with a salt rim and garnishes but these aren’t essential.

I don’t have a cocktail shaker, how should I mix a margarita?

Don’t stress, there are plenty of regular household things you can use if you don’t have a cocktail shaker…a jar with a tight-fitting lid or even a drink bottle are probably your best options. Basically you want something that can be closed securely and that will hold all the Margi goodness in while you shake the heck out of it.

I’m not a fan of Tequila, can I mix with other spirits?

We’re so glad you asked! YES! SIPPS Mixers can be paired with all different spirits. Gin, rum and vodka all work great, just use the same ratio’s that we suggest in our original recipe and you’ll have a delicious cocktail no matter what spirit you use. Check out our ‘How to SIPP’ page for recipe ideas.

Can I make a mocktail instead?

Absolutely, it’s one of our mid-week favourites. Just mix 75ml-100ml of SIPPS Margarita Mixer with ice and top with still or sparkling water.

Are any of your margarita mixers gluten free or vegan.

Yes! All of our Mixers are gluten free and vegan. They are also preservative free and have no added sugar (this will help lessen the hang-over… bonus!).

Does SIPPS contain alcohol?

No, our mixers don’t contain alcohol. They have everything else that you need to make a killer Margi. You just add Tequila.

What is the expiry?

Sipps Margarita Mixers have a 6-9 month shelf life. You’ll find the exact expiry date stamped on the bottle underneath the barcode. We always aim to ship out the freshest possible bottle.

What if I don’t use a whole bottle once I open it?

Don’t worry, you can store an opened bottle of SIPPS Margarita Mixer in the fridge for up to 10-14 days.

It looks like my SIPPS mixer is separating, there are floaty bits at the bottom, is this ok to drink?

It sure is, separation is a common occurrence as we use fresh juice from REAL limes. The floaty bits are just pulp that has sunk to the bottom of your bottle. Make sure you give your bottle a good shake before you open it so the pulp evenly disperses through the mixer.

My bottle of SIPPS has changed in colour, it is slightly browner, is it sill ok to drink?

This is ok, it’s normal for the colour to darken over time as factors like sunlight and temperature affect the appearance of the Mixer. Make sure to store an unopened bottle of SIPPS somewhere out of direct sunlight.
